Combined Energy

Combined power could be the most viable method of using existing investments such as power stations and progressively merging them with new technologies such as concentrated solar thermal, gradually turning even power stations green. -

Such projects would require far less investment than wind and photovoltaic farms, less land, and can even be used to roof the power stations themselves.

The conversion still allows the power station to operate normally on traditional fuels during the transition to fully-green power supply systems. The objective of this project is to safely minimize the costs and polluting emissions generated by energy production. Recent developments in technology will allow such projects to store heat collected at daytime to be used during the night.

Molten salts are at the core of this technology and encouraging results are being achieved, with predictions that this technology might be used in plants in Spain and Nevada as early as next year. Given the recent energy crisis and the clear and present danger of climate change, isolated electrical network systems are going to become ever more important, since they can simultaneously address cost problems, help eliminate pollutant emissions and develop energy sources that previously did not exist.
